Remember
Remember me when I am gone away,
gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
nor I half turn to go, yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
you tell me of the future that you planned;
Only remember me; you understand
it will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet, if you should forget me for a while
and afterwards, remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
a vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
better by far you should forget and smile
than that you should remember and be sad.
By Christina Rossetti (1830 - 1894)
I like it
I like the new Facebook changes. The pages load much faster and at least I don’t bogged down with all the crappy applications that people filled their pages with. Although Facebook now loads so fast compared with before, I’m actually bored within 1 minute compared to the 10-15 as it was before, I guess people will never be happy :). Everything can be commented on now, which really helps making the first page more interactive, I’m sure there are a bunch more change that I haven’t noticed, but all in all I like it.
US foreign policy
Does it really matter which person is elected to the White House. US foreign policy hasn’t changed for the last 120 years, they will still rape weak and poor countries of their valuable resources with the aim of securing stability and economic prosperity in their own.
Nothing has really changed in the last century, and I don’t expect anything to change in the next century either. There is an underlying dark aspect of US politics that many have chosen to ignore and brush under the cover. Does anyone remember the US support of coup d’etats in Hawaii, Cuba, Costa Rica, Philippines, Nicaragua, Honduras, Iran, Guatemala, South Vietnam, Chile, Grenada and Panama?
Afghanistan and Iraq were only the latest examples of direct American intervention, and certainly not the last. All this pre-election rhetoric and sweet talk really is a joke. This time around I’m sure history will be made, but not by which person is in the Whitehouse, but by the next country the US decides to attack, rape and destroy, all in the name of democracy and freedom.
What is really frightening is that now with Russia, China and India becoming powerful players in the world economy, can the USA continue their historical course. With NATO planning on expansion and the US insistance of a missle defense program on the Asian doorstep, then maybe the future isn’t as clear as the last 100 years have seen.
Rain rain go away!!!
I really wanted to go skating tonight, but it’s raining again. Seriously, it’s only just turned September, and it feels like it’s winter again. Oh the joy of living in England, yes, the joy of living in London! Why doesn’t someone just shoot me, because sometimes I feel that living in London is a terrible death sentence.
Three reasons not to live in the UK:
- Really crap weather!
- Miserable faces and personalities (probably because of the weather).
- And, stupidly expensive prices, probably because people were in a bad mood (again because of the weather) and wanted to rip off their customers.
Trying something new
After trying to make my own blog, which ended up in procrastination, and putting some poems on Facebook, which doesn’t really do them much credit, here goes with take three of my blog.
I came across Wordpress randomly, but it wasn’t hard to find as I’ve read quite of few interesting blogs over the months. Very easy to install, and even easier to manage, here goes with something new, let’s hope it works out OK.
